By the end of the training, participants will be able to deploy and operate a production Proxmox VE cluster: cluster networking and redundancy, Ceph as a hyperconverged infrastructure, high availability for VMs and containers, SDN, API-based automation, and cluster incident diagnosis.

Audience and prerequisites

Administrators, infrastructure engineers, IT managers and Proxmox partners who need to manage a production cluster.

Prerequisites: having completed "Proxmox VE, Deployment and Management" (PVE-DM-01) or an equivalent level (PVE installation, VMs, LXC, bridge/VLAN/bonding, LVM/ZFS). This is an advanced module, not an introduction.

Program

Day 1. Cluster architecture (pmxcfs, Corosync, quorum). Cluster networking, bonding, VLAN, dedicated Corosync interface. Cluster initialization and node joining. QDevice for a 2-node cluster. Shared storage overview. Ceph deployment (MON, MGR, OSD, pools, CephFS). ZFS replication. Cluster troubleshooting.

Day 2. High availability (affinity rules, fencing, shutdown policies). SDN (VLAN zones, simple zones, DHCP/IPAM). Proxmox and Ceph debugging. Cloud-Init and templates. Automation via the REST API (tokens, scripts).

Teaching resources

Each learner has their own virtualized Proxmox VE infrastructure (multi-node cluster), provided by DynFi for the entire session. Hands-on exercises on this platform, course materials and quizzes throughout the training, including failure scenarios.

Trainers

DynFi engineers, official Proxmox trainers. Around 15 years of Proxmox experience on critical environments (production, high availability, demanding clients). They also work in the field: architecture, deployment, operating Ceph clusters.
